When it comes to the environment, we believe that repairing is always better than replacing. The amount of car bumper covers and other plastic items that are discarded and replaced rather than repaired is astonishing. In a Stuff article discussing recycling of car bumpers Motor Trade Association chief Craig Pomare said “There is something like 600 collision repairers around the country and they product around 25 to 30 bumpers that need recycling every month”. While damage on a car bumper is sometimes to severe, a lot of these bumpers could be repaired by us to their original strength and appearance, while saving them from being thrown into landfills.
At PWP, we believe that a lot of these bumpers or other plastic car panels are better repaired back to their original strength than discarded. We have a great amount of useable spare parts that we use for certain repairs, such as old headlights with mounting brackets that are in great condition that can be used to repair another headlight that otherwise may have been discarded into a landfill.
